Description

Master the end-to-end management of digital products with this 3-day ITIL® Product (Version 5) certification course. Designed for professionals who build, deliver and operate digital products, this course provides a practical framework for translating customer needs into value-creating solutions, spanning strategy and discovery through to day-to-day operations and continual improvement.

ITIL® Foundation (ITIL 4 or Version 5) is required to attend this course.

What is ITIL® Version 5?

ITIL® is the world's leading best practice framework for digital product and service management, adopted by over 3 million professionals, trusted by 50,000+ organisations, and used by 82% of the Fortune 500.

ITIL® Version 5 is the latest evolution of the framework. It expands beyond traditional IT service management to address the full lifecycle of digital products and services, recognising that as IT roles move to the front lines of the business, the framework needs to be relevant wherever digital products and services create value. Version 5 is designed for AI-driven, digital-first organisations and unifies product and service management into a single lifecycle, so teams can design, build, launch, operate and improve together.

About this course

Digital products are central to how modern organisations co-create value with customers, users and stakeholders. Yet many organisations manage product development and service delivery as separate disciplines, creating gaps in reliability, consistency and customer experience.

ITIL® Product addresses this directly. It provides a step-by-step approach to navigating the full digital product lifecycle, showing how the eight activities of the digital product vendor's value chain connect in practice, applied as needed, in any sequence, and often concurrently. The course covers product innovation, human-centred design, effective acquisition, operational practices and continual improvement, and shows how these connect across product vendors, service providers, partners and consumers.

The framework complements Agile, DevOps and Lean ways of working and is applicable across industries and organisations of any size.

What will I learn?

By the end of this course, you will be able to:

  • Explain the key concepts of digital products and services and their role in value co-creation

  • Describe the scope, purpose, benefits and challenges of the ITIL Product and Service Lifecycle Model

  • Explain how organisational value chain activities support the product and service lifecycle

  • Apply the purpose, scope, steps, roles, outputs, critical success factors, metrics and practical recommendations for each lifecycle activity

  • Explain how management practices enable and support lifecycle activities

  • Apply human-centred design principles, effective acquisition approaches and operational best practices

  • Explain how operating models, value streams and organisational structures contribute to successful digital product management

  • Explain how AI, automation, and complementary frameworks including PRINCE2 and DevOps support and enhance digital product and service management
