Gain a thorough understanding of Service Integration and Management with this 2-day SIAM™ Foundation certification course. As organisations increasingly rely on multiple IT service providers, the ability to govern, coordinate and integrate them effectively has become a critical capability. SIAM™ Foundation gives you the knowledge to contribute to a SIAM implementation and understand how it delivers business value.
Delivered live in our virtual classroom by an expert instructor, this course prepares you for the SIAM™ Foundation examination, awarded by EXIN. It is also the recommended starting point for the SIAM™ Professional certification.
ITSM Hub offers multiple delivery methods including virtual classroom, self-paced online and onsite options.
Service Integration and Management (SIAM) is a proven methodology for managing IT services delivered by multiple providers. When organisations work with several vendors each with different contracts, processes and ways of working service delivery can quickly become complex, inconsistent and difficult to govern.
SIAM provides a structured approach to integrate and coordinate these providers into a single, business-facing IT organisation. It establishes clear governance, management, assurance and service coordination helping organisations get maximum value from their service providers while reducing overhead, duplication and operational friction.
SIAM is also referred to as Multi-Sourcing Integration (MSI). Within the scope of these certifications, the term Service Integration and Management is used throughout.
ITSM Hub delivers the EXIN SIAM™ certification programme, based on the SIAM Body of Knowledge developed and maintained by Scopism. This programme prepares you to operate effectively in a service integrator role or within a SIAM ecosystem.
The SIAM™ Foundation course provides a comprehensive introduction to the SIAM methodology, covering implementation structures, governance considerations, tooling and data requirements, and the core processes used in a SIAM ecosystem. It is based on the Scopism SIAM Body of Knowledge Version 3.
A candidate who successfully completes SIAM™ Foundation understands how Service Integration and Management delivers business value and is equipped to contribute to the implementation and ongoing use of SIAM within their organisation.
By the end of this course, you will be able to:
Explain the main concepts and processes of SIAM and describe how they are applied within organisations
Describe how to establish a SIAM ecosystem to better organise and coordinate an organisation's service resources
Identify the key considerations for the most important SIAM processes to better support a SIAM implementation
Explain how to reduce the risks associated with integrated services and a SIAM ecosystem
Connect SIAM practices with other IT frameworks to improve and boost an organisation's service provision
Describe how to integrate services using different structural models based on SIAM practices and methodology
Recognise the key stages of the SIAM implementation roadmap to better plan and prepare for a SIAM rollout
Define SIAM roles and responsibilities within processes and the broader organisational structure
Select the most appropriate SIAM practices based on an organisation's environment, maturity and objectives
SIAM™ Foundation is suited to anyone with an interest in Service Integration and Management, or those involved in or planning a SIAM implementation. It is particularly relevant to professionals already working with IT service management processes who want to extend their capability to multi-supplier environments. Relevant roles include:
Chief Strategy Officers (CSOs), Chief Information Officers (CIOs) and Chief Technology Officers (CTOs)
Service Managers and Service Level Managers
Service Provider Portfolio Strategists and Supplier Managers
Process Managers and Process Architects
Project and Programme Managers
Change Managers and Business Change Practitioners
Business Relationship Managers
Service Architects and Organisational Change Practitioners
There are no specific prerequisites for the SIAM™ Foundation examination. However, it is strongly recommended that candidates have a good working knowledge of IT Service Management terminology for example, through experience with a recognised ITSM framework such as ITIL®.
The SIAM™ Foundation certification is recommended, though not mandatory, as preparation for the SIAM™ Professional examination.
Successful candidates earn the SIAM™ Foundation certification, awarded by EXIN. Your examination voucher is provided on the first day of the course.

ITIL® is a framework for IT service management that defines best practices for how services are planned, delivered and improved. SIAM™ is a methodology specifically for managing environments where multiple service providers are involved. The two are highly complementary SIAM™ builds on ITSM knowledge and provides the structural model for governing and integrating providers within an ITIL-aligned service management environment.
The SIAM Body of Knowledge is developed and maintained by Scopism and is freely available at scopism.com. The EXIN SIAM™ certification programme is based on this Body of Knowledge.
Foundation provides the knowledge needed to understand SIAM concepts and contribute to a SIAM implementation. For professionals who will be designing, leading or managing a SIAM ecosystem, the SIAM™ Professional certification provides the applied skills and deeper capability required.
The SIAM™ Professional certification is the natural next step. It develops your ability to analyse, plan, build and operate a multi-service provider environment, and requires practical application through in-course assignments and a case study-based exam.
